Michael Shaffer

Michael Shaffer is Vice President of Community-based Services at Pinebrook Family Answers, where he has administrative oversight of the out-of-home placement and adoption services; in-home family-support, family education and school engagement programs; and reentry services. Michael began his career at Pinebrook in 1989 after earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Moravian College. He later earned a master's in counseling in higher education from Kutztown University. 

Michael has dedicated his career to the children and families throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley region and has served on many local and statewide committees, where he advocates for their needs and promotes best practices in service delivery. Since 2018, Michael served on the board of the Pennsylvania Council of Children, Youth & Family Services, an organization composed of private and public human service agencies across the Commonwealth.  

Michael and his wife have lived in the Lehigh Valley over 30 years and raised their three sons.  When not working, he enjoys spending time with his extended family and friends, walking his dog, watching soccer, and going to movies, festivals and music concerts.
