Braley Veras
Born and raised in the South Bronx, Braley Veras is a dedicated advocate and community leader with over a decade of experience in direct service and violence prevention.
Braley began his career supervising after-school and enrichment programs that provided mentorship and safe spaces for youth in the South Bronx. He later served at one of New York City’s largest domestic violence shelters, helping women and families access safe housing, secure employment, and navigate the legal system toward long-term stability. As a therapeutic case planner and educational advocate with the Administration for Children’s Services, he supported youth in foster care to reach their full academic and emotional potential.
After relocating to Pennsylvania, Braley became the Children’s Advocacy Director at Turning Point of Lehigh Valley, building strong school partnerships focused on healthy relationships and violence prevention while interning at Crimes Victim Council and supporting sexual assault survivors. He now serves as the Violence Prevention Coordinator for the City of Allentown, leading collaborative initiatives to strengthen community safety. Braley holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and Sociology from Lehman College and a Master of Social Work from Fordham University.
