‘The Well-Being Report’ to Debut on WDIY in 2025

January 20, 2025

The Leonard Parker Pool Institute for Health (LPPIH) in coordination with WDIY 88.1 FM is pleased to announce a new monthly radio show. After three successful and informative years of HealthBeat, we’re rolling out a new show with a new theme: The Well-Being Report, which will embrace and expand on LPPIH’s vital conditions for health.

To further embrace The Well-being Portfolio and Vital Conditions Framework, the show will dive into the vital conditions for health and well-being that affect local residents. The Vital Conditions Framework is an influential framework for LPPIH that highlights the conditions needed to create opportunities for more people to thrive and be healthier over time. The seven vital conditions are: Belonging & Civic Muscle, Thriving Natural World, Basic Needs for Health & Safety, Humane Housing, Meaningful Work & Wealth, Lifelong Learning and Reliable Transportation. Show episodes will focus on local efforts to improve public health by addressing indirect means and the underlying conditions. Monthly special guests will feature local leaders who champion place-based work aimed at addressing well-being.

The Well-Being Report will air on the third Monday of each month from 6:30-7 p.m. The show will be co-hosted by Samantha Shaak, PhD, LPPIH Executive Director, and Margaret McConnell, WDIY Executive Director. Episodes will be archived and available to stream on Apple Podcasts, LPPIH.org and WDIY.org.
