The Power of People With Manuela Guevara and Matt Trust | The Well-Being Report

On this episode, Samantha Shaak and WDIY’s Margaret McConnell are joined by Manuela Guevara of the Allentown Economic Development Corporation and Matt Trust of Leonard Parker Pool Institute for Health to discuss Allentown Works, a five-year, $20-million initiative designed to connect residents with family sustaining careers and the resources needed to succeed.

Manuela and Matt explore the barriers that can prevent residents from accessing career opportunities, including transportation, childcare, language access, and limited awareness of available resources. They also discuss how community partnerships, trusted relationships, and resident-driven solutions can strengthen neighborhoods, expand economic opportunity, and help build a more connected and thriving Allentown.
